YIRI YIRI GREEK HONEY RAW GREEK HONEY 100% PURE – VANILLA FIR 960g (VANILIAS) – the rarest of Greek honeys from the black fir forest of Mainalo.

£49.60

The most rare of greek honeys, and probably one of the finest in the world. It is found ONLY in the black fir forest of Mainalo in the Peloponnese. This is the first time in 7 years we have had a harvest as it is particularly sensitive to weather conditions.
It is a unique monoculture honey with PDO status (Protected Designation of Origin)
Its beautiful Mother of Pearl appearance, wonderful perfume, thick, smooth, silky texture and earthy, vanilla, toffee, caramel flavour is unique amongst honeys. Unfortunately, for this harvest, the unusual and extreme temperatures suffered in Greece this summer, has resulted in the Mother-of-Pearl effect being less prominent. The velvet texture, taste and powerful properties thankfully remain unchanged.
This exquisite honey never crystallises or changes its silky, smooth texture.
Traditionally produced on Sinanoglou’s small rural farm. No pesticides, chemicals or colourants used at any stage of production. Unfiltered, unheated and unpasteurised. Raw Greek honey is considered the finest in the world due to the extraordinary diversity of flora and unlimited, powerful summer sun .There are substances in raw Greek honey, as yet unidentified, that may be part responsible for its quite amazing attributes.
